Compassion can be the most challenging thing to give ourselves in times of pain. As children, a majority of us did not have a model on how to feel pain and be kind towards ourselves. Now when it arises, you have to parent yourself to develop compassionate resilience. There is a requirement in removing the beliefs you have towards pain and yourself.
Have you taken the time to observe your inner dialogue when you are irritated, sad, frustrated or hurt?
Do you watch your actions externally yet be hyper-vigilant in seeing what is going on internally?
Have you been aware of constriction in your body? That is where you need to bring your awareness and give it attention. Denying and ignoring is not a solution; instead, redirect the focus in the way of acceptance and openness to feel your way through it. There is an energy that has been suppressed and needs to be released.
Using mindfulness practices allows the opening and connection to develop compassionate resilience.
